This six-month program combines Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging principles and practices with team dynamics fundamentals. Emerging leaders will learn how to better navigate their teams, especially in achieving results, providing and receiving guidance, and supporting healthy team dynamics.

In this option, Ethos will provide: 

  • Five training sessions
  • Five facilitated forums
  • Monthly check-in and feedback calls with the program point of contact
  • A complete retrospective at the end

Descriptions of the program components are included below.

Level Up: How to Develop Your Best Professional Self (2 hours)

In this session, participants will uplevel their skills to advocate for themselves and learn persuasion principles to navigate their professional environments. Using the Golden Circle framework, participants will develop a grounding purpose statement and think about their goals.

Participants Will Learn:

  • How to craft a purpose statement based on your vision for your professional success
  • The way to position yourself so you will be able to get better buy-in and collaboration from those you work with
  • Learn persuasive ways to use storytelling to change perspectives and the minds of others
  • A framework for goal-setting that helps focus intentions to get to concrete, achievable goals

The Ultimate Guide to Goal-Setting (90 minutes)

In this training, we help move employees towards personal transformation by assisting them to identify their core desired feelings and improvement goals. With these learnings, we help employees understand their sources of inspiration and apply that momentum to their roles within organizations.

Participants Will Learn: 

  • The power of personal goals
  • What core desired feelings are and how to use them to set better goals
  • How to apply the SMART framework to personal objectives
  • Exercises for enhancing personal goals and leveraging personal growth for greater professional growth

Stress Management (90 Minutes)

This training focuses on understanding the difference between stress and stressors, good stress and bad stress, as well as stress that is everyday, far away, and imaginary. Participants learn several tools for coping with stress and how to deal with it within their teams. Finally, participants learn meditation and relaxation techniques to manage stress, then create an action plan to manage stress moving forward.

Participants Will Learn: 

  • The difference between stress and stressors
  • How to identify good stress versus bad stress and the different kinds of stress that affect our daily lives
  • Both daily and long-term strategies for coping with stress
  • Tools for how you can help others manage their stress
  • How to create an action plan for dealing with at least one significant stressor

Effective Communication and Taking Initiative (90 minutes)

This training focuses on effective communication as a foundational core skill. It covers the four primary communication styles and when to utilize them. We also will look at frameworks for using communication to increase initiative and propel your career. Finally, it includes tools and live practice opportunities in the session that can be implemented outside the session in day-to-day work.

Participants Will Learn: 

  • The four different communication styles and how to manage them
  • How to set clear boundaries through communication
  • Tools to communicate across situations and channels
  • How to use the Six Persuasion Principles to take the initiative and make change

Being an Anti-Racist Leader (2 Hours)

In this session, we learn the foundations of institutional racism and how to develop racial competence as leaders at all levels, especially by understanding how our power impacts teammates of color.

Participants Will Learn:

  • The six anti-racist leadership competencies and put them into practice
  • Reinforce learnings around intervening in the face of racial microaggressions
  • Solve real-life cases focused on different aspects of anti-racism with a Simulations Exercise
  • Guide you in the creation of an Action Plan with an exercise

Forum (90 Minutes Each)

Members of the program will participate in five 90-minute forums, one after each workshop. Ethos will provide guidance, materials, and tools for members to facilitate some of their learnings for their immediate teams.
